Overview

The 6-km route with a positive elevation gain of 284 meters allows you to explore the Via dei Mulini in Poleo, a hamlet of Schio. Ideal for a Mini Trail or a relaxing walk, this route offers striking landscapes and fascinating views.

Departure

The starting point is Robinson Park, a well-equipped picnic area where you can park your car.

  • It starts by climbing up along Via degli Orti.
  • You pass the church.
  • Continue left along a small road after a short flight of stairs.

Itinerary

  • Continuing on the main road, you pass Contrà Paladini, which becomes a dirt road.
  • After 300 meters keep left, crossing the watercourse and starting a steeper climb.
  • After 600 meters, turn left to a downhill slope, circling the Sessegolo Mill.

Trail along the Gogna Creek

  • After the pylon, turn left and skirt the Gogna Creek.
  • The trail continues for 650 meters, with the ruin of the Zanella Mill visible on the left, about 200 meters from the paved road.

Return

  • When you reach the paved road, turn left, then right onto Contrà Corobolli.
  • At the end of the narrow road, cross Via San Giorgio and take the path opposite.
  • At the next intersection, take the dirt path opposite and, after passing a flight of steps, turn left downhill onto the asphalt.

Last stretch

  • After 150 meters, turn left, passing Trattoria da Amelia, until you reach the Poleo cemetery.
  • You cross the paved road, go down the stairs and turn left.
  • At the end of Via San Giorgio, turn right for 270 meters, then left again into Via Falgare and immediately right into Via Orti.
  • After 700 meters, you return to Robinson Park.

Church of Poleo

Built in the late 19th century to a design by architect Caregaro-Negrin, the church was consecrated on September 16, 1996. Prominent among the artistic works are:

  • Two 15th-century canvases depicting the Madonna and Child.
  • A St. George altarpiece from 1738.
  • A stone statue of Our Lady.

Structural interventions and restorations

On the occasion of the centennial, the church underwent major renovations:

  • Roof re-roofing.
  • Renovation of windows and doors.
  • Adjustment of lighting and heating systems.
